Triple posting in one night!

Just went through my old post in this blog and gawd, I'm such a melodramatic queen, lols

But not as melodramatic as Karee! haha

I really oughta write more often. Blogging is a way of capturing those moments in your life in words that sometimes, only you yourself can understand the nature of those words. For those who actually had read and commented on my past post, thank you very much for enduring my endless vichyssoise of verbiage and I promise I'll try maintain that way.

Below are just merely shout outs, each one dedicated to different person.

Live happy!

Having someone is addictive (which is bad) and LESSEN YOUR CURSING!

Give me an answer.

My long awaited text production #2

Global warming is an occurrence where the average world’s temperature increases. Concern has been growing rapidly over the past few decades among nature-lovers and scientist alike. Many parties have put in great amount of money and effort in search of the truth behind this travesty and the results suggest a depressing tale. There is a saying that goes, "In the absence of light, darkness prevails". Therefore, by not taking any drastic and swift actions to correct this problem, global warming will grow exponentially until it reaches a certain point where it is beyond human’s control. When the world gets hotter, a series of events will follow after – each with its’ own negative effects and solutions to these problems are a necessity and not just a simple need.

One of those events is the rising of the sea level and that ultimately, will drastically decrease our limited supply of habitable land. In Al Gore’s “The Inconvenient Truth”, he talks on the odds of two major ice sheets in West Antarctica and Greenland to collapse, in which either both will increase the global sea level by around 6 metres. The number might look small but that slight change in sea level will sink numerous low-altitude areas, especially those near costal area. The worrisome part about this is that one tenth of the people on earth live in areas less than 10 metres above sea level (Holli Riebeek, 2007). If that really were to happen, millions of people’s lives will be lost and render many more homeless – perhaps even without a nation.

Other than that, global warming also causes a disturbance in the equilibrium of nature’s ecosystem. Animals and plants will be forced to adapt themselves to the changes global warming has made on the seasons (Al Gore, 2007). If these organisms fail to catch up with the changes, they will face a brutal possibility of being extinct. Diseases which used to bring death and despair to people back in the olden days now resurface and continues doing what it has been doing for a long time – kill people. Plus, new diseases such as SARS, Arena virus and Lyme disease are also an effect global warming brings. (Al Gore, 2007).

Corrective measures should be taken into action with no further delay in order to prevent global warming from worsening and alleviate the current situation. Contrary to what public thinks, most people already have sufficient know-how in order to combat excessive carbon emission. The solutions are in our hands (Al Gore, 2007). We could use energy-saving light bulbs, get an economical car with better mileage, use public transportation, turn off the lights when they are not being used and many more. At an international level, many countries have already joined Kyoto Protocol with the intention of saving the earth by reducing a percentage of carbon dioxide emission. Other countries, primarily, USA need to follow the example shown by these countries.

In short, global warming is an issue that brings us to a time where we must reconsider the actions we have on this earth – the path we took to better our lives with the cost of global warming. Earth is a place where all of us share the luxury and the comfort of having a place to live and we share this planet with the animals and the plants. They deserve to sustain life in here as much as we do. So, let us all, hand-in-hand, tackle this problem and ascertain a better future for the next generation. As said by Winston Churchill, “The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays is coming to its close in its place we are entering a period of consequences.”

Awesomeness

I love waiting!

I waited and the time suddenly decided that it should be 3.03AM!

I should be earning my beard by now.

Text Production #1

Global warming is a world-wide issue that affects all of us in many aspects. Concern has been growing rapidly over the past few decades among nature-lovers and scientist alike. Many parties have put in great amount of money and effort in search of the truth behind this travesty and the results suggest a depressing tale. There a saying that goes, "In the absence of light, darkness prevails". Plus, new diseases such as SARS, Arena virus and Lyme disease are also an effect global warming brings. (Al Gore, 2007). In addition, mosquitoes are now appearing at a higher altitude as compared to decades ago. This animal lives in a habitat where it is warm enough for them to find food and reproduce. As the world gets slightly hotter, the places where mosquitoes are able to live get wider and higher.

Corrective measures should be taken into action with no delay in order to prevent global warming from worsening and alleviate the current situation. Contrary to what public thinks, most people already have sufficient know-how in order to combat excessive carbon emission. The solutions are in our hands (Al Gore, 2007). On the point, sir!

"This house believes that..."

Out of obligations and not interest, I just participated in INTI Nilai's Debate Competition. As fancy and prestigious as it may sound, it is, in fact, just a debate competition done in my college and compared to the other debate competitions I have joined in the past, this has got to be the smallest and quickest in terms of.. everything, really - number of participating teams, number of rounds done and time taken to start wrap up the whole thing.

I was the time-keeper but I debated the rounds before and after that.

However, it is certainly not the most boring one I've tried - I had fun! Thanks to Karen and Luo Wen and for the record, this is my first time debating with a foreigner ( it's Luo Wen, just in case ) but it didn't feel awkward at all. In fact, I felt as if I've been their teammates for a long time but it's probably because I've seen them in the debate practices often enough to the point where I'm very familiar with them, Karen especially. The motions were pretty interesting, too. The three motions used was THBT Barrack Obama does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, THBT space exploration should be the main focus in scientific research and for the finals, THBT Politics is just a matter of business. Yes, there were only three motions because only 3 teams joined this competition - see what I meant by smallest? Anyway, we debated on the 1st and 3rd motions.

The other motions. Click to enlarge.

The 1st motion was still manageable but 3rd motion killed me. We turned it into an economics debate which I'm very weak at, at the moment. I'm taking economics subject but I'm still new at it. We lost but I never have expected to win anyway.

I am hungry!

Oh yea, I cut my hair, now it looks like I'm a kid. The guy who cut my hair screwed up, damn. =.=

Respond respond!

When I wished I wanted to be normal in my past post, I didn't really think it through. I guess you could say that the line skipped the logic part of my brain and went straight to my fingers where they did clickity click on the keyboard, producing the post in the process =P

Well, I've been doing some thinking ( a few mins only lah ) and what I want is not to be normal per se but instead to be my normal self,
the old me that I was back when I was in secondary school,
the old me that enjoyed crapping to the point where I considered crapping as a hobby,
the old me that enjoys the company of people,
the old me that rarely goes emo,
the old me that won't go down without a fight.

When I look back, I can see myself as an organisms that adapts to its' surrounding. By surrounding, I meant the people. The people here are not the same as those people I see back in my secondary school - they're different in a lot of ways. I see myself as part of a firm in an oligopoly market, hehe - I'm interdependent to other people. I wonder how I could let myself be influenced in such a way - how could I let myself be dictated by changes and oddities in my surrounding. I should have stay true to who I am despite the flaws and defects - I find that very pleasing.

Hermm... still no answer

What I want

Should I be realistic or optimistic?

If I choose to be the former, then the answer would probably be NO. The pattern seems to point to that direction.

If I choose to be optimistic, then it'll be a YES and that will definitely make me extremely happy, but then again, it's hard being happy on a lie that you're telling to yourself. In the end, it'll boil back to a NO.

So what's the point of being optimistic? The only thing you'll get from being that naive is disappointment and grief - something that time and friend can only partially heal it. The rest would be how forgetful you are.
After all these ramblings, I still do love you.

The day I stop breathing.

Mr Yee asked for a sunflower when he dies.

I just want to be recognize as my persona, not who I am inside.
