Australia

*yawn*

This post will be for my homework. I have to choose one character from the movie Australia and write about him or her. Being the hardworking and extremely rajin guy I am, I shall choose someone of lesser importance compared to the Drover (Hugh Jackman), Lady Ashley (Nicole Kidman, *whistles*!) or even the cows. haha. Nah, obviously he is slightly more important than the cows. I'm just bored...

I shall choose King George!

So here is my analysis about this old dude that goes by the name owned by royal families of the British empire.

============================================

Grandfather of the adorable Nullah, King George is an aborigine of the Land Down Under. Constantly wearing exceptionally revealing clothing, he lives in the wilderness - away from civilization; such is the nature of being an aborigine of Australia at that period of time. People believes he was once the head of an indigenous tribe.

I are cool!

Mystery seems to linger around him, suddenly appearing on some hill with no explanation or a visual proof of how he end up being up there; the thought of him being up there always seem to puzzle me. However, the mystifying aura he carries suit his character of being a "magic man" - one who can perform strange feats that defies logic. In his case, he knows all of the "songs" for all the things, living or not. A song from him is equivalent to an Expecto Patronum from Harry Potter. On one event where the Drover and his riders were lost in Never Never Land, he sang their way to the main city.

He also has the strength of an Olympic javelin thrower even though he does not look like one who has that physical prowess but that's irrelevant. At the end of the movie, he showed his capability of winning a gold medal in the next Olympic's javelin throwing. When Fletcher attempted to shoot down little Nullah with his rifle, King George pierced through him like the a sandbag he is by throwing a metal rod which was extensively available at that moment due to the bombing from the Japanese.

I are coolest

Another thing that should be noted here is that he has this awesome pose which fits perfectly to his mysterious self. As can be seen from the picture up there, he stands with one leg while the other lean comfortably on his other leg.

In short, this mysterious grandfather of Nullah who stands on one leg for no reason that is able to kill people from quite a distance with a metal rod adds a slight but tangible touch of mystery to movie, making the movie a must watch.

So, here is King George saying Tata.

Past

I just finished reading most of the post I wrote back when I was Form 3-4 (went hiatus during Form 5). If I were asked to describe it in a word; then it would be sad. Sure, there are a lot of mixed feelings too but the prominent one was grief. I believe that the present sketches our future and that our present is sketched by our past. I have a bad memory and that disallow me to look back and see who I was. However, blog can be a vessel for the selected memories to be encapsulated in the form of words. I did that. Back in the old days, I was very honest in my words. Words that really reflects my feelings and my personality at that time; enables me to see my current self in comparison to my old self and see how have I change. I could not say I've grown mature but it seems that I've lost a part of my youth - my imaginative self.

Now?

I see myself as someone who had lost a part of his childhood and replace it with a few qualities of an adult. It is saddening. I try to pick the words that sounds nice but does not truly reflect of who I am. No longer do I have that cheekiness of a kid.

I really miss those old days.

I hate you, time!

My good ole buddy and teammate, Soh

Gabriel. We were in the quarantine room before debate.

Sporadic Update #2

It's that time again!
Oh yeah~
It's me being high for no apparent reason again!

Let's be emo for a tad while, 'kay? Why? My holiday is about to finish. I'm about to let go my privilege of having freedom from studying. I'll die from this world and brought into the world of constant hardship. A place where I'll be shoved into a bottle of education - forced to absorb everything inside, only to be regurgitated in the end for a future certain not. Plus, the obligation I face is yet to be touched. It waits patiently. Patiently building the lethality of it and at the last minute, it explodes. Explode in such intensity to the point of total annihilation.

Emo ends here!

The thing is, I have not done my assignments!! I am so freaking doom. I really need to spend my time in my dorm as that's the only place where I can properly focus and do the things that I really need to do. Only in that place can I prioritize and really able to carry it out. Crap, I'm so freaking doom!

Then again, I'm used to do my homework at the very last minute. haha. So far, I've survived. If not, I won't even be in INTI.

Hermmm, I planned on writing a few more stuff but I forgot most of it. Haha, the high period is short, I guess.

Oh wait, Oh wait! Just remembered!

I'm pretty disappointed in Batu Pahat's cinemas! All of 'em. There are 3, eh, slash that, 2 cinemas here but not one of them shows the movie District 9 which I've heard (from Mr. Yee, my econs lecturer, lol) to be quite an interesting movie and a must watch for me to tackle my boredom problem that I've written in my last post. Crap betul!

Haih, guess I'll be downloading it in INTI!

DC++ is the way to go!

Sporadic Update #1

I am feeling something.

This feeling seems to linger. Linger in my deepest part of my heart. Thus, only the slightest of prod of my inner self can be felt. However, it grows - grows upon reading the texts from the virtual, intangible world. I am feeling guilty.

O, guilty me.

O, guilty me.

----------------------------------------------------

LOL, just so you know, the stupid poem-like, gibberish and exaggerated stuff up there is just me telling you how freakin' bored I am now. I'm on semester break now and pretty much clueless on what to do for this holiday that I unworthily get. Wahahahaha. I should be revising but nah, lol - SAM programme is uber cool. wait! That's wrong. SAM programme for my batch is uber cool because I get a few months to fool around like the carefree guy I am. Wakakakaka. However, I've been getting a lot of complain from a friend of mine who takes SAM as well but she's the first batch, meaning, she has a year to study while I get a year and a half. Some people even decipher SAM as "Study Atau Mati". I think AUP programme is harder, seeing all my AUP friends studying like mad at the first week of the programme. Scary.

Eh, this post was intended to fill up this empty blog. So, those who read, I feel bad for you because you just wasted your time! w00t. GO RANDOM.

Anyway, it's the month of Ramadhan; a month of fasting for the muslim. For some people, it's a countdown to Hari Raya. lol. For some, it's time to slim down. For some, it's to gain weight. So far, I'm okay. lol. I have this I-don't-know-why tendency to fall sick every Ramadhan. Thank god I could puasa for the first day as I had a terrible stomachache the day before. I even threw up.... IN A CAR! So the next time I'm going for a long journey by car, I'll have to abide this 3 rules:

1. Don't eat and watch movie.
2. Always prepare plastic bagS, just in case.
3. If the journey involves going through winding roads, avoid eating hot food before the journey as puking would result in me feeling burning sensation in my nose.

note: Rules may or may not apply to other people. Feel free to follow. gawd, i'm random -.-

This is the activities I did for the past 3 days of my holiday. It's chronologically arranged so it's easier for you to follow.

nothing.

nothing..

nothing...

There you go, fun isn't it?

This pulak will be my plan on the things I'll be doing for the rest of my holiday. Again, I'm writing it the same way as above for the same exact reason as above.

No idea.

Hermm.

Anyone can suggest?

Maybe.. ermm.. maybe not.

Going back to college.

Phew, I'll be dead tired at the end of this busy holiday.

Internet

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak witnessed the launching of the MSC Malaysia Pahang when the state government unveiled its plans to wire the whole of Kuantan (and eventually the whole state) with fibreoptics to drive the high-speed broadband service. This also means that Kuantan will be the first place in the country to have such services which could provide speeds of up to 10 megabits per second — compared to just 300 kilobit per second that we have from the normal broadband providers...."
from here

One baby step for Malaysia's broadband services, one not-so giant leap for Kuantan. At least it started, but it's gonna take a long time until it reach Johor with Batu Pahat included. -.-

Cloudy day

Today was kinda an okay day. Had history pop quiz and was pretty scared in the beginning. All because I did not really study. The question was kinda easy and the lecturer gave away the answers anyway in the end. So, it wasn't as terrible as I expected.

For some reason, I find Accountancy quite interesting and having said that, I can pretty much say I can put more effort in it without me dozing off somewhere in the middle. Even though I DID slept in Acc class before. I was tired that time. Then again, I've always felt lethargic since I arrived here. Except in some sporadic times where I got high for no reason. I am random thanks to a few of my friends from HS.

Hermm, then I had English class which I became kinda high at the starting of the class. As time goes on, energy seem to escape from my body and I slowly became emo. Probably because I was really hungry that time. Because of that, I was really moody during Specialist Maths class. Tired and hungry during class is certainly a brain-killer for me. Or the rain, perhaps?

Tiny bit of update and large bit of homework

The only reason I'm updating this blog is because I have to do my homework using this blog. So yeah, after this short update, I'll paste my homework here :P. Anyway, I'm happy here. Nothing much to say. Actually, I've been repeating that so many times to a lot of people who always ask me how I am here. Can't blame them for being a good friend, right? I have nothing much to update as my life is pretty routine around here. Class, eat, crap, eat, study a lil bit and close it up with playing counter strike. haha.

One thing to note though, H1N1 has been quite an issue in INTI. However, the authorities were quick to react by setting up places for students to be checked for any symptoms. I'm okay so far but not some of my friends, suspected but seems fine. Guess that's all for now.

This is my homework - a review for the movie "Coach Carter"

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

-Marianne Williamson (A Return to Love)

Those were the one of the many inspirational lines used in the movie “Coach Carter” – one of the greatest basketball movies to be made. However, this movie does not limit its fan to basketball hardcore fans, it reaches beyond. Though the movie revolves around basketball, viewers will soon realise the true focus of the movie is the troubled youth who, being pushed by Coach Carter (Samuel L. Jackson), achieved success and learnt respect the hard way.

In this true story, Coach Carter was hired to coach the Richmond Oilers in basketball. Being the militaristic man he is - the players were asked to sign a contract that includes maintaining a grade of 2.3 CGPA, attending all classes and sitting in front rows. Knowing that youth in that area has a higher tendency to get into prison than into a college, he implemented those unorthodox methods to teach the youth a lot of things about the world and basketball being a minor subject - therein where the youth found the hardest part to swallow. Once things started to turn for the best, the once 4-wins –only Richmond Oilers, became one the many great teams that’s written in history of basketball by getting 16 winning streaks. However, Coach Carter had to justify the contract between him and his player and lock out his team from the gym when he found out that his team failed to fulfill the promise.

Samuel L. Jackson has a natural talent in giving inspirational speeches without sounding too formal, too cliché, or even too rigid. This is the type of movie that can inspire kids to go to college, or just as easily get you to go home, type up that resume, and apply for a better job. There are few actors who could balance the abundance of strength and wisdom that Samuel L. Jackson brings to the role with the hipness that makes people want to listen to him

In the end, Thomas Carter whips out a few tricks to throw our concept of the sports movie on its ear and remind us all that sports are a pastime to be appreciated, but also one that teaches valuable life lessons. How to buck the odds, how to make a lasting impression, how to inform without getting too preachy. These are lessons that could not only be taught by Samuel L. Jackson's titular coach, but by the director who shares his surname as well.
